Introduction
A leading global pharmaceutical company sought to refresh their Shanghai office. They engaged Vestian to design and renovate an activity-based workplace that would promote shared learning, social interaction, and technological integration.
Challenge
The project faced significant time constraints, with a requirement to complete the renovation within 100 days. The construction contract involved multiple parties, complicating the approval process. Additionally, the renovation needed to be coordinated with restoration work in the existing office. The client sought a design that would encourage communication and collaboration while providing diverse work settings to support various activities.
Solution
Vestian crafted a customized strategy to meet the client's needs within the tight timeline and budget constraints. We designed an open, flexible workspace featuring ergonomic furniture, informal work cafés, and rest/collaboration areas with movable furniture for easy reconfiguration. Specialized areas such as phone booths, mail rooms, and nursing rooms were integrated to support diverse employee needs. To address the timeline and budget challenges, we implemented a strict project management approach and strategic procurement process. This allowed us to navigate the complex approval process involving multiple parties and coordinate effectively with the ongoing restoration work.
Our design incorporated vibrant poster art and aesthetic elements reflecting the company's core values, creating an attractive and motivating work environment. By carefully managing each aspect of the project, from design to execution, Vestian successfully delivered a modern, flexible workspace that promotes collaboration and employee well-being, all within the 100-day timeline and under budget. The resulting office space effectively supports the client's innovation-driven culture and enhances their ability to attract and retain top talent.
