About the Role
We are seeking a proactive, client-focused Project Manager to manage and oversee commercial real estate construction projects on behalf of portfolio clients. This position is office based and will work out of our Chicago, Ann Arbor, Fairfield or New York office. The ideal candidate will bring a balance of construction expertise and a strong commitment to customer service, acting as the primary liaison between the owner and project stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of projects aligned with client goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent the owner's interests throughout all phases of commercial construction projects (pre-construction through closeout).
- Manage communication between ownership, architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors to ensure timely project delivery and adherence to scope, budget, and schedule.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for portfolio clients, maintaining strong, service-oriented relationships.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants on site selection, design development, permitting, procurement, and construction activities.
- Review and interpret contracts, drawings, specifications, and other project documents.
- Track project budgets and schedules, prepare progress reports, and manage project documentation.
- Proactively identify and resolve issues that may impact cost, quality, or timelines.
- Facilitate project meetings, maintain detailed meeting minutes, and action items.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor progress and quality control.
- Advocate for the owner during negotiations, change orders, and closeout processes.
Experience & Qualifications
Required:
- Commitment to providing outstanding customer service and diligence.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to schedule and deliver client commitments on a timely basis.
- Capacity to solve problems and take on new challenges.
- Ability to deliver project management services on a consulting or other third-party basis.
- Experience working as an Owner’s Representative/similar client-advocacy role.
- Knowledge of commercial construction practices, contracts, and terminology.
- Manage multiple projects across various locations nationwide.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, project management tools, and construction software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam).
- Willingness to travel between client sites in assigned region.
Preferred:
- 5+ years of experience in commercial real estate construction or projects. management, with client-facing responsibilities.
- Hospitality or customer service background is a plus.

Compensation: $90,000-$110,000 depending on experience & geographic region
