DBS is a large financial services conglomerate and MNC which has its offices across 18 markets and over 280 branches. In line with their Asia and India expansion strategy, they commissioned their second office in Hyderabad. The new facility DBS Asia HUB 2 is the group’s first technology development centre outside Singapore and was developed in the Wave Rock building, which is in the popular financial district of Hyderabad. The office space was approximately over 100, 000 square feet.

The DBS workforce, both locally and globally comprises of young, innovative and dynamic individuals. The firm has molded itself into a pro innovation and change adaptive organization built on the principle of “PRIDE”, that is Purpose Driven, Relationship Led, Innovative, Decisive and Everything Fun. It was hence essential that the workplace also reflects these qualities to mirror their team demographics. Edgy, Bold and Industrial finishes were all pre-requisites, to encourage and provide a workplace for their young workers to express freely and creatively. Also, an open office set up with adequate social interaction areas and detailed employee interactive areas was planned. This open office set up has been a prominent feature across their global offices and it is believed to inculcate an atmosphere of trust and transparency amongst internal employees; reflecting on the external focus of the company too. As an organization which is constantly evolving to the rapidly changing environment and client needs, DBS was keen that their workplace reflect it, and at the same time be stylish, contemporary, efficient and fun!

It was also felt that an activity based work place as that envisaged, would add to the overall fluidity between teams and people which would result in easy transition between cubicles, meeting areas and recreation space. Interesting themed spaces were included too, such as the Think Garden, Living room, SCRUM room, circular huddle spaces and hot desking to break away from the monotony of regular designs.
